Tyler discovered his toes can make noise. While at Gymboree we were walking across the peek-a-boo bridge when he decided to stop and stomp his feet. He was amazed at the sound it made. He was so upset when I finally pulled him off to go to the parachute activity. We had to spend time after the class just stomping away. He only stomps while on the bridge at Gymboree - never at home or any where else. It's so fun! Here's a quick video of him stomp, stomp, stomping away!

Yeah! *clap* *clap*
On Saturday night, my parents arrived from Roseville. They were coming for the long weekend and to babysit Tyler while I have to go work in Phoenix on Tuesday. While we were playing, Tyler clapped for the first time! It was awesome! We've been working on this for a while now and it was so great how he just did it naturally - on his own, without any encouragement from us! All weekend long he has been clapping away! Hurray for Tyler!

A few fun videos from 2009
I've been organizing all of our videos from the last year and thought I might post a couple of the fun ones! We have been so blessed by Tyler. He is such an amazing little boy and we are sooo lucky!
This first video is of Tyler waiting at the top of the stairs for Daddy. He heard the garage door and crawled over to the gate and began pulling on it. He loves when Daddy comes home!
This second video is of Tyler laughing with Grandma Betsy at California Adventure. He finds her sooo funny!
The third video is from last weekend. I had to work in Phoenix again, so Daddy met Grandpa Jerry for a little outing which included his first ice cream cone! That's what daddys do - ice cream! Lucky boy!!!
This last video is of Tyler playing in the sand for the first time. He also tries his first bite of sand. YUMMY!

First Step
Last night while Collin and I were cleaning up after dinner, Tyler crawled over to the door in the kitchen. He stood there and then held out his hand and made the grunt he makes when he wants to be picked up or needs help. So I walked over and held my hands out to him. I expected him to drop to his knees and crawl. Instead, he took two tiny steps and fell into my arms. This is the first time he has walked without leaning against something. The best part of the whole thing is that Collin and I were both watching and witnessed this milestone! His first steps! My goodness, where has the time gone. Just ten short months ago he was so tiny he couldn't hold his head up, now he is up and beginning to walk! WOW!!! I'm just so amazed and feel so blessed by such an amazing little boy we have!

Tyler's New Trick
This past weekend I had to go to Phoenix for work. While I was gone, Tyler showed Daddy a new trick. This morning I witnessed it for the first time too! After Tyler woke up this morning, I brought him into my bed. We cuddled for a little while, then he crawled after Mongo. Mongo tolerated the "petting" for a few seconds and then jumped off the bed. Tyler proceeded to turn himself around at the edge of the bed - making Mommy really nervous - and repelled off the bed. He swung his feet over the side, then just slid down. It was so cool to see. I got it on video in the late morning. The doctor was right when he said we had an adventurous one on our hands!
At 10 months, already repelling!

New Year's Eve
For New Year's Eve, we had some friends over. Kim, Andy and their daughter Emma came as well as Ashlea, Harry and their son Keaton. We had a nice time watching the kiddos play. Emma is 9 weeks younger than Tyler and Keaton is 11 weeks younger. It's amazing how different each one is with such a little amount of time separating them. The kids stayed up until about 8 and then amazingly they all went to sleep and stayed asleep. We then had a great fondue party - cheese and chocolate and a heated game of Phase 10! It was great to ring in the new year with great friends! Happy 2010!
